City guards are enforcers of city laws who are commonly charged with the apprehension of petty criminals or service as protectors of an important (or at least wealthy) figure. Usually, they have little training and/or aren't the sorts of people who belong in positions in power, and so these guards are notorious for taking pleasure in the more violent aspects of their profession or backing down from any fight that isn't a sure victory. In some cities, bribery of the city guard is also a problem.

Behavior[]

Guards who are guarding someone will possess the ability Warden's Duty, which they will use whenever someone makes a melee attack against the person they're guarding if within range.

All other guards will possess Pummel, which they will use at the first possible opportunity. Spear shove can be used to knock a foe off a ledge or to set up Pummel.

Other than these abilities, guards simply use basic attacks and tactics.

Pummel

Seeing an opening, you jump onto a fallen foe and beat him mercilessly.
