Darus Rilem is a mage and member of the Slaughter of the Secret Grave.

Biography

Darus Rilem was born in the town of the Polis Academia and lived in a middle-class family as the son of Marcus and Lexius Rilem. As a child, his parents noticed that he showed an aptitude for magic. He seemed to excel in his education, and so they decided to enroll him in the Polis Academia, and Darus was admitted.

However, as soon as he began his studies, his mother fell ill. A great madness descended upon her and she wept for the soul of her only child. She insisted that Darus, who at the time was a boy of 13, was going to become a murderer and kill his father and that her son's soul was tainted. In a fit of insanity, Lexius murdered her husband to spare him from the torture that she feared her son would inflict upon her husband. She was arrested and hanged for her crime.

Darus continued to excel in his studies at the Polis Academia even after the tragic deaths of his mother and father for quite some time. However, his curiosity for magic grew and he became obsessed with the idea of bringing his parents back to life. He began to study necromancy and occult magic. He studied these things in secret, fearing the judgement of his peers and teachers. Eventually, after the Plague, occult magic was outlawed, but Darus continued to practice and study his magic in secret.

One evening, during a particularly rigorous night of studying and after managing to resurrect a dead cat, one of his peers opened the door to find Darus gaping at the disgusting, intensely foul-smelling undead cat. The student immediately ran to get his teachers. In the meantime, Darus escaped from his room and ran away from the Polis Academia.

Appearance

Darus is tall and slim - almost sickly. He's on the paler side with dark hair and eyes.

Darus has trouble sitting or standing still and is incredibly manic and twitchy.
