The Greywight are a race originating in the Aether Plane. They are known as the archenemies of the Aethereals, and fight them often. They are named by the other races of the World, having no name for themselves (or at the very least no name other races could understand).

Physiology[]

The Greywight are mostly humanoid. Their torsos, heads, and arms are generally the same as normal humans, though universally thinner and having a pale gray skin tone. The main aspect of their biology that seperates them from other species in all the Planes is their possession of several long tentacles instead of legs. Greywight have rather weak physical frames, yet these appendages are extremely strong and due to their bodies' lightness are able to lift them easily into the air. They tend to move with an alien grace, almost floating across surfaces without any noticeable movement of their tentacular legs.

Greywight possess mouths, but have developed a powerful form of Telepathy that they use to communicate in place of conventional speech. This trait allows them to break all language barriers, communicating with any sentient creature without knowledge of language.

Culture[]

The Greywight do not have cities or towns, but rather travel through the empty void of the Aether Plane on gargantuan whale-like organisms known as Star Titans . The Greywight seem to have a somewhat regal, aristocratic nature to them; they dress in clothing reminiscient of royalty, and possess a noble bearing that few of the races in the other Planes can hope to match. They rarely distinguish between ranks for the majority of their kind, but are rather universally equal. The exception to this comes in the form of the Primarchs. These are the ruling elite of the Greywight, each of whom commands his/her own Star Titan. There is also believed to be a leader of the species, though the only evidence of this individuals existence comes in the form of rumors.

The Greywight are a reclusive people, and few in the Planes outside of the Aether actually know of their existence. Only the Aethereals have need to deal with them regularly, and even then it is only in the form of the occasional skirmish against a Star Titan that has wandered too close to Starborn territory. Their true ambitions, beliefs, and purpose remains as unclear as their origin.
