HP, an abbreviation for "hit points" or "health points," is a defensive stat that tracks a combat entity's physical well-being. HP is reduced by receiving enemy attacks, as a result of enduring physical trauma or adverse environmental conditions, and other means. When a character's HP is zero or negative, the character is unconscious and fleeing the light. If a character's HP falls to or below -⌊maximum HP/2⌋ (i.e., their negative bloodied value), the character is dead.
