- Friedrick Von Ruthven - sovereign ruler of Torslowe, a three-hundred year old direkin known for his sheer brutality and endless ambition. He instigated two centuries of war in the greater North and is considered to be the greatest tyrant of the known world in recent history.
- James Graham - King of Bether and leader of the Allied Kingdom's forces. A strong and charasmatic man who was known to be one of the small handful of people to ever face Ruthven in single-combat and survive.
- Katarin Lavain - Queen of Abathas, one of the largest and most prosperous kingdoms in the North. She defected to the side of Ruthven in return for the immortality of the direkin, and her forces bolster those of Torslowe.
- Lord Avannar - One of the dead risen from the tombs of Arctis-Mon, and the commander of Ruthven's forces. A terrifying wight who inspired fear in both his forces and the enemies with both his cruelty and his tactical genius.
- Demitri Lanster - High General of the Allied Kingdom's armies. A brave and competent man, though his old age keeps him from being an effective warrior.
- Glaive - High Chieftan of the Wallachian tribes, and Ruthven's ally. A vicious barbarian responsible for the deaths of many allied soldiers.
- Joseph Saxxon - Polis Academia mage and Tactition of the Allied forces. A shrewd and cunning man, though not well loved by the common soldiers or his fellow leaders.
- Kostaki Petrova - Captain of the Crowhaven elite guard. Ultimately responsible for ending the war
