The Plague is the name given to a disease that ravaged Panoulis and virtually obliterated much of society in Panoulis' central lands, especially the Avylonian Kingdoms. The Plague was a watershed moment in Panoulis' history, and the end of the plague is now the zero point of Panoulis' date system.

History[]
Origins[]
The Plague is generally agreed to have been engineered by a group of powerful occult magicians who were likely conspiring to bring about an apocalypse. The Plague's suspected point of origin, in the southern parts of the Avylonian Kingdoms, has lead some to believe that the plague was either intended to devastate the Polis Academia (which it did eventually reach) or created at the Academia before being transported to the mainland.
Spread throughout Panoulis[]
The Plague originated near the southern parts of the Avylonian Kingdoms. It traveled quickly and had infected all of Avylon within mere days. In only a few weeks of its initial appearance, it had spread as far as the Burning Desert, the Windswept Plains, the Titanic Mountains, and the Fae Forests.
Effects[]
No race was immune or even significantly resistant to the plague, and its effects were devastating. The areas near the origin of the plague, those being Avylon, the Polis Academia, and the near eastern cities, were the hardest hit. The Plague took such a toll on these predominately Human areas that the Human empire crumbled over its course.
