Vilute Lisla is a half-Shadowfolk, half-Human Illusionist and Inquisitor who was born and raised at the Atrum Academia, which he later attended.
Before birth[]
Ikkereth Lisla, a Shadowfolk magician and academic working with the Atrum Academia, bought for himself a young slave girl, Naria Jafdulhan, whom he took to bride. He taught her everything he knew about magic, and the two worked together at the Atrum Academia for years. They had only one child together, whom they named Vilute.
Early life[]
Vilute was born to Ikkereth Lisla and Naria Jafdulhan on 45 Winter 51. His parents, still working with the Atrum Academia, sent him to daycare in his infancy and boarding school through his childhood, where he was raised almost exclusively among the Shadowfolk. His human features and inability to fully shapeshift hinted to his peers his racial makeup, and lead to near-constant ostracization. Vilute became determined to win his peers' respect with his cunning and magical skill, and focused on honing these.
Continuing education[]
After his time at boarding schools, Vilute entered the Atrum Academia as a student and focused his studies on the art of illusion. This choice of focus earned him further derision, as many magicians and even commoners both in- and outside of Antrissa consider the art to not actually be a form of magic. Nonetheless, Vilute proved himself more than capable of mastering the art, and was asked by the Antrissan government to serve as an inquisitor after he finished his studies at the Academia. Vilute accepted this offer eagerly.
Inquisitorship[]
Vilute's first assignment as inquisitor was close to home, where he worked as a double agent among the slaves of Seraphim, whose revolts had killed a number of notable Shadowfolk in the city. He worked there for nearly ten years before the Antrissan governmeny, satisfied with his work, sent him to Tilmouth for a more difficult assignment: forge an alliance with the Cendizan Empire, by any means necessary, and alone.

Over the next 10 seconds, the colors of your hair, eyes, and skin change to more closely match those of one of your parents', at your choice. This effect will persist for up to 1d4+1 hours. Anyone who has seen you in your natural form will still recognize you during this effect. |

Combat abilities[]
Class features[]
Illusory Double Class feature |
"... Just as I thought I had him cornered, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I whirled around, and there he was! I did a double take, and sure enough, he was in two places at once." |
At-will ✦ Magic |
You create an illusory double in the tile. The double receives a standard, move, and minor action each turn. All doubles share a single HP pool, but attacks targeting multiple doubles deal damage as if only targeting one double. No more than one double can be created per turn. |
You may possess no more than 6 doubles at one time, including your original self. |
Neither you nor your doubles can make basic attacks or contribute to flanking while there is more than one of you. Making a basic attack disables Dissipate until the end of your next turn. |
For all intents and purposes, there is no difference between you and your double, and you are classified as a double at all times. |
Dissipate Class feature |
"... We ran them down, all of us. But we lost sight of them for just a second, a piece of a second, as they turned a corner. When we got there, they were nowhere to be found, even though there wasn't anywhere they could have gone. Then we looked up. He was there on top of the building, as if he had climbed up two stories of sheer, smooth wall in seconds." |
At-will ✦ Magic |
The double using this ability disappears instantaneously. |
Level 1[]
Shadowstab Attack |
From the shadows, you strike. |
At-will ✦ Martial, Combat advantage |
Hit: 1[W] damage. |
Anticipated Attack Utility |
"The sword entered through his back and exited through his chest, yet seemed only to strike clothing. No blood left the wound. When the sword withdrew, the clothes collapsed, empty, to the ground." |
Encounter (Special) ✦ Magic, Combat advantage |
If you are attacked before the end of your next turn, you dissipate before taking damage and your attacker grants combat advantage to your doubles until either attacked by a double or the end of your next turn. |
